Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition in the world. While everyone experiences anxiety from time to time, an anxiety disorder involves persistent, excessive worry that interferes with daily life. It can show up as constant rumination, avoidance of social situations, physical symptoms like racing heart and shortness of breath, or a general sense that something bad is about to happen.

At Nafs Wellcare, we treat all types of anxiety disorders including generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and specific phobias. Our specialists understand that anxiety often coexists with depression, and we treat both conditions together when they occur.

Treatment typically begins with CBT, which is the most researched and effective approach for anxiety. Depending on your symptoms, we may also recommend medication, mindfulness-based stress reduction, or EMDR if past trauma is contributing to your anxiety.
